France marks 10-year since November 2015 Paris terrorist attacks

France is commemorating the 10th anniversary of the November 13, 2015 terrorist attacks, which killed 132 people and injured 350.

From 11am today to 6pm, several ceremonies are planned in the capital. The day will end at the new memorial garden, Place Saint-Gervais.

French President Emmanuel Macron on X today said: “Ten years. The pain remains. In brotherhood, for the lives cut short, the wounded, the families and the loved ones, France remembers.”

French National Police BRI (Research and Intervention Brigade) officers stand guard outside one of the sites targeted in the attacks.

Jordan Bardella, the President of France’s right-wing party National Rally, said that while the country honours the courage of our law enforcement forces,”it is also important to discuss the necessary action to eradicate Islamism”.

Flowers laid in tribute to victims outside the Bataclan concert hall, targeted in the attacks.

On November 9, interior minister Laurent Nuñez said the country is “no longer facing the fear of a planned large-scale attack, like those that took place ten years ago”.

He added, though: “Individuals who are already present on national territory, become radicalised and plot violent actions have been gaining strength over the past three years.”
