Pro-Palestine protests have erupted across Europe amid calls from Islamic militants for a worldwide “day of jihad“.

Some authorities have already taken punitive action against the demonstrations, with Berlin and all of France implementing bans against protests supporting the Palestinian region.

This does not appear to have dissuaded many, with French police deploying tear gas against thousands of protesters who gathered in Paris on October 12.

Demonstrators are said to have chanted slogans such as “Israel murderer” and “Macron accomplice”.

Police reportedly have made 10 arrests in relation to the protest so far, with French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin urging all protesters who violate the ban be detained as “they are susceptible to disrupt public order”.

Other demonstrations passed off far more peacefully, with hundreds gathering in Italy, Ireland and Belgium to protest at Israel’s actions following the Hamas attack.

In Brussels, demonstrators are said to have discharged flares, with chants of “free, free Palestine” also being heard.

Not all related activity in Europe has been peaceful with an rise in Islamist violence amid calls for a global jihad by extremists in Palestine.

In Berlin, a group of unknown people reportedly threw firebombs at a police car. Masked to conceal their identity, at least one of the attackers is reported to have shouted “Allahu Akbar” (Allah is greatest).

The devices are said not to have ignited, with the attack resulting in no injuries.

In France, a teacher is said to have been killed in a knife attack by an assailant also shouting “Allahu Akbar”.

Others reportedly were injured in the incident, with the assailant now said to be in police custody.
