Bullet-ridden Ukrainian ambulance visits Brussels European quarter

1 minute read

“This Ukrainian ambulance has been attacked by the Russian army in 2022 in the Kharkiv area” read the poster attached to a bullet-ridden vehicle in the Brussels European quarter on May 31.

The ambulance, a publicity stunt by a Belgian charity, was parked in front of the restaurant terraces of Place Luxembourg, where EU officials gather.

Belgian charity BEforUkraine has “offered 68 vehicles to Ukraine”, the poster read.

Pro-Ukrainian publicity is omnipresent in the European quarter. A large photo of European Parliament President Roberta Metsola shaking hands with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky hangs on the Parliament building itself.
